A new, high spatial-resolution, dataset on Internet use in Australia -  PhD scholarship to compile and index Internet usage data at the level of local government areas (LGAs) for Australia and make the data available on a dedicated website.  Secondly, to lower the barriers for accessing these important data by producing an Australian-focused, LGA-indexed, multi-channel activity database to be made available at a fraction of the original size.

The project is based on three stages: the first stage consists of acquiring the raw data from the three different data sources. In the second stage of the project, the two Internet usage datasets will be combined and merged with the Australian portion of the geo-IP (geographic--IP) database to identify IPs associated with Australian LGAs. The third step consists of transferring the dataset into a user-friendly format, preparing a documentation file and a code-book and publication on the dedicated
website.
